Sundays
Faith Finders is Central's Sunday morning program for children and youth. All ages of children and youth are welcome to participate in Faith Finders, held during the morning worship service.
Faith Finders classes are based on a four week rotation. Weekly sessions start with singing and then the children head off to their classes. We follow the
'Walk with Me' curriculum published by Faith Alive. Classes for children are grouped by age up to Grade 8.

MINISTRY TO CHILDREN AND YOUTH
Vision
The congregation’s Vision statement calls us to build up children and youth as followers of Jesus and active participants in the church. To this vision, all the energy and work of those engaged in Faith-finder and Charlton Club leadership will be directed. Specifically, we will:
1. Nurture faith in children and youth so that they discover who God is and become disciples of Jesus
2. Provide an environment where children and youth learn to care for one another and to share God’s love with others
3. Integrate children and youth into the worshiping faith community through:
a) exposure to and participation in regular congregational worship
b) teaching the faith through age appropriate learning in Faith Finders (Sunday morning) and Charlton Club (mid-week)
c) resources provided for Christian family nurture at home
d) creating opportunities for Christian growth and service in the wider church and community.
Values and Goals
The Junior Kindergarten –Grade 1 children will focus on God is with me. Through Bible stories children will learn that:
a) God loves us and cares for us, and be encouraged to express gratitude for God’s goodness
b) Jesus is our teacher, and be led to obey his teachings by caring for one another and sharing.
Specific Goals: The children learn:
a) simple prayers of thanksgiving and supplication
b) The Lord’s Prayer
c) three simple scripture passages through song that they can share with the congregation in worship.
The Grade 2-5 children will focus on God as my friend. Through biblical exposure, the children:
a) will be introduced to the concept of God’s presence, not only in the universe, but as personally with us through the Holy Spirit.
b) will gain an understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice for us and receive instruction in the meaning of Holy Communion.
c) will develop an awareness of the church as the community of God
Specific Goals: The children will
a) learn to lead Faith Finders worship with Scripture reading and responses
b) participate in Sunday morning worship through short prayers, readings and music, including the Doxology.
c) learn a psalm through singing
d) learn a short memory passage every four weeks.
e) participate in Holy communion twice a year.
